Honey...I'm Home!

Blog Date - 10 June 2013

Did ya'll miss me...did ya..did ya? Naaaah, didn't think so. In case you did not know the gf and I have been on an epic journey around Europe. Well...France...which is part of Europe. It was supposed to be France, a corner of Italy, Switzerland and Austria, Germany and Belgium, but the weather had other plans. All will be revealed as I write it up for the Travel Stories section.

Everyone asks "Did you have a good time?". It's actually quite a difficult question to answer. At times it was great, at times it was OK, at times it was hard work and occasionally it was thoroughly depressing. However although we failed to pass through the countries we'd hoped to visit we achieved a great deal and answered an awful lot of questions. The trip was never meant to be a joyful, splendid, entertaining and relaxing break, it was meant to be a learning exercise.

We wanted to know what works and what does not when you go camping for more than a week. We wanted to learn how we like to travel. We hoped to face challenges and see how we coped. We wondered how much money is required and how expensive it is to travel. In all these questions we gained insight, knowledge and experience. My overall feeling looking back is that the trip was worthwhile and I shall cherish the memories.

Right I'd best start uploading the 700 plus images before I loose them forever, I'd better peruse my notes, I'd better start unpacking and I'd better start writing it all up before my befuddled mind forgets...
