AGV K3 SV Pivot Click (Pt 3)

Blog Date - 24 April 2016

ARGH! Not again.

If you've read AGV K3 SV Pivot Click (Pt 1) and then AGV K3 SV Pivot Click (Pt 2) you'll know that the little bit of plastic on the visor mechanism that goes "click click click" and sets the visor to stay in certain positions - broke. The piece on the right side of the helmet broke last time.

So yesterday it came as a great disappointment to hear a horrible "clunk" rather than a nice "click" as I moved my visor up. Upon inspection it seems the same tiny piece of plastic has broken on the left hand side this time. Once, yes I can understand that, there's bound to be the odd bad apple in a barrel but twice? Most unsatisfactory AGV, not good at all.

The pivot click with the broken part circled in redGosh Darnit! Not again AGV, not again.

If you've read the previous posts then you'll also know that I now have several spares, replacement is not a problem for now. If however this continues to be an issue then I am going to have to get in touch with AGV. I suppose this could be a new design and the design is prone to breaking the pivot clicks? OK, fair enough, but if this is in fact the case then what will AGV do about it? Will there be a redesign of the whole visor mount and if so will customers such as I be informed and supplied with the new redesign, free of charge? If this were a motorcycle there'd be a recall and the work done by the shops.

I shall report back any further developments but right now my ongoing love for AGV is not what it used to be.

Hi!
I have AGV Stealth helmet and I also faced the same problem with these clips. So, I started to google for the solution and found this story in your blog. First of all, thanks for the clips' part number. I use the green clips and I want to ask you a question. Will you accept to sell me green clips that you have (in case that you don't need them, of course) and sent it to me to Israel? I can pay for them + postage costs via PayPal.
Best regards, Alexey.

Hi Alexey. I'm afraid I'm going to keep hold of them just in case! It seems this item is prone to breaking if you've had the same problem and they were a pain to get hold of.

I'll add a link to AGV themselves. A quick look suggests they'll be able to post a kit to you. I think I might get in touch with AGV and see if they even know about the issue.

Let me know how you get on with AGV!

Well, thank you for your time and help. I found also sellers at eBay and Amazon that have this item and the shipping cost is reasonable (more or less). Thanks again!
